Robert Bell, Ph.D.
Bob founded Sphinx Pharmaceuticals, Intersouth's first biotechnology investment. A professor at Duke University Medical Center, he served as a director of Sphinx until its acquisition in 1994. Most recently, Bob was Vice President of Research at Glaxo Wellcome, Inc.

Katrin Burt
Katrin joined Intersouth Partners in 2004, serving as an analyst for two years before joining the information technology investment team.

Dennis Dougherty
Dennis is a founding partner of Intersouth and has primary responsibility for the life sciences portfolio. He has led more than 25 of Intersouth’s investments over the last two decades.

Kip Frey
Before joining Intersouth, Kip served as President and CEO of several Intersouth portfolio companies. Kip has been the architect of three of the Triangle's most notable entrepreneurial deals, together generating more than $1 billion in investor returns.

John Glushik
John, who joined Intersouth in 1999, focuses on information technology investments. His previous experience includes telecommunications engineering, data communications research and strategy and market consulting.

Chris Hegele
Chris has been a member of the Southeast venture community for nearly 20 years, as a general partner with Kitty Hawk Capital, a venture capital firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Garheng Kong, M.D., Ph.D.
Garheng focuses on Intersouth’s life science portfolio. He has been a clinical scientist at Glaxo Wellcome and was actively involved in commercializing early-stage technology with the Duke University Office of Science and Technology.

Mitch Mumma
Mitch is primarily responsible for Intersouth's information technology portfolio. He has held management positions with companies throughout his career, including three companies in the Intersouth portfolio, all of which subsequently went public.

David Pierson brings 12 years of pharmaceutical industry experience to Intersouth Partners, where he works with the life science investment team.

James Rosen
Jimmy joined Intersouth’s life science investment team in 2007. Prior to joining Intersouth, he worked in clinical research and financial positions in the health care and biotechnology sectors.

Phil Tracy
Phil’s background provides Intersouth with extensive experience in the healthcare industry. He was formerly President and CEO of Burroughs Wellcome Co. and has served as chairman of the board of visitors for the Duke University Medical Center.
